Legal
License
Version 1.1, 21 October 2026
This page summarizes the Quinq licenses and quotes their legal clauses. The full texts ship in the repository as LICENSE-SOLO.md and LICENSE-TEAM.md. Want to read them before buying? Email [email protected] and we'll send them.
Who is who
- Licensor: Frexes, owner Hela Azzabi, Sommerstr. 33b, 13409 Berlin, Germany. See Impressum.
- Licensee: the purchaser named in the Polar order.
- Seller: Polar (Polar Software, Inc.) sells Quinq as merchant of record under its buyer terms. The right to use the code comes from this license.
Solo vs Team
- Solo: one developer. If a company buys Solo, it names one developer who uses it.
- Team: one legal entity, up to 5 developers at any time (employees or freelancers working on your projects). Developers can be replaced. Affiliated companies need their own license.
- Both: unlimited apps, personal or commercial, no time limit.
What's covered
Everything in the private repository, now and in future updates: the Expo app template, the Crayons UI library (source included), the landing page template, scripts, agent skills and docs. Open-source packages the kit uses (Expo, React Native, npm dependencies) keep their own licenses.
You may
- Use, copy and modify the code.
- Build and sell any number of apps and sites with it, for yourself or for clients.
- Hand one app's source to the client who commissioned it, for that app only.
- Keep everything you build. Your apps are yours.
You may not
- Redistribute or sell the code, or substantial parts of it, as a template, starter kit, boilerplate, UI library or code generator, free or paid, modified or not.
- Publish the source in a public repository.
- Share repository access beyond your licensed developers.
- Use the code to train AI models offered to others.
- Remove copyright or license notices.
Updates
You get every update pushed to the repository for as long as it exists. No fixed schedule, and no promise to support each new Expo, React Native, iOS or Android release on day one. Consumers keep their statutory right to updates (§ 327f BGB).
Refunds and termination
A refund, withdrawal or chargeback ends the license and repository access (see refund). If you materially break the license, we may end it by written notice after giving you 14 days to fix the breach. Apps already released stay live.
Defects
Your statutory rights for defects apply. Business buyers: defect claims expire 12 months after you get repository access, except for the liability cases below.
Liability
Frexes is liable without limit for intent and gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health, under the German Product Liability Act, and where it gave a guarantee. For slight negligence, it is liable only for breach of an essential obligation (one that makes the contract possible and that you may normally rely on), limited to the damage that is foreseeable and typical for this kind of contract. Otherwise there is no liability for slight negligence.
Law and courts
German law applies, without the UN sales convention (CISG). Consumers keep the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of the country where they live. Courts of Berlin, Germany apply only to merchants, public-law entities and buyers without a general place of jurisdiction in Germany.
